Makesite.ai ("we") is the data controller for personal data collected through this service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.

What we collect

Account data: name, email address, and password hash when you sign up.

Business data: the information you provide about your business so we can build your website (business name, services, location, opening hours, etc.).

Billing data: handled by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status — never your card number.

Usage data: basic logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and service improvement.

Why we use it

To create and host your website, process payments, send essential service emails, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

Sharing

We share data only with sub-processors required to run the service: Stripe (payments), our hosting and database provider, and our email provider. We never sell your data.

AI processing

Information you submit to build your site is sent to our AI model providers to generate copy and layout. They process it transiently and don't train models on your inputs.

Retention

We keep account and site data for as long as your account is active and for 90 days after deletion (then we permanently erase, except where law requires longer retention for billing records).

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Email supportmakesite@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO.

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. No advertising trackers.
